Thank you to Abigail Foerstner, writer for Quintessential New Trier magazine, for her article about me in the January/February 2012 issue. Abigail didn't limit herself to just telling my story. She also took the time to visit with me in my studio and observe me teaching one of my adult painting classes. Follow this link and scroll down to read her article, titled Seeing the Light.
My work celebrates my love for drawing, color, and composition. Many of my paintings rely heavily upon contour lines to create rhythmic and repetitive elements. The subject that has always captured my interest has been the human figure. More recently, the lush panoramas in and around Door County, Wisconsin have evoked a new appreciation for landscape paintings. This ever-changing seasonal palette continues to be an inspiration.
I hope my paintings reflect the joy I have felt while making them. Any day spent painting is better than any other day!
